Advocacy

“Couldn't deal with these issues without you - helped me a lot, can always depend on you, how will I manage without your support.”

“Can't do it on my own - people hard to talk to without you helping me!”

“Glad you've been with me. Think housing would have walked all over me without you.”

“Excellent, can get hold of them when I need to.”

We support people to have their voices and concerns heard and taken seriously. We do this by:

  • Providing advocacy to individuals referred to us by the Vulnerable Persons Panel within the diverse local communities of St. Ann’s and Sneinton.
  • Developing an advocacy service to Carers and the people they support in Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe.
  • Developing a local advocacy partnership: Full Circle Advocacy, made up of different local advocacy providers to ensure that the full range of needs for Nottinghamshire residents are met.
  • Managing and facilitating a Regional Advocacy Network, culminating in Regional Advocacy Conferences to share best practice.

Vulnerable Person’s Panel

Our Advocacy Manager, Jayne Jackson and our Advocate, Sue Carnill attend the Vulnerable Person’s Panels (VPP) based in St Ann’s and Sneinton, both of which are deprived areas of Nottingham. The panels are held once a month, chaired by Nottinghamshire Police Authority and attended by other organisations such as Nottingham City Council, Sure Start services, Nottingham City Health, Third Sector groups and Police Community Support Officers.

During the VPP meetings, vulnerable residents are identified and as a result, Integritas Advocacy CIC offer a free Advocacy Service to help resolve their problems. Examples of advocacy undertaken to date, include benefit issues, mental health issues, physical health needs, issues around accessing education, community assessments, personal safety issues and drug and alcohol services needed. The aim is to prevent problems and offer support to people who need it most.

The Advocacy service is a pilot scheme financed by Integritas Advocacy CIC and the Department of Health, the aim of this is to identify and evidence unmet needs within the local community and in doing so, attract further funding for this unique and much needed service.

“I really appreciate what Integritas has done for me”

“I think you are thorough, supportive and informative with us and very available. Thank you”

“Been brilliant, wouldn't manage without Integritas.”
